Greener Grass

People like myself often will annoy "active" members of the Mormon faith rather than prompt them to look closer at the religion. It's easy to do nothing more than point out faults we've found within "The Church", but that tends to make people less interested in hearing our experiences and the information we find so critical to share. Those who've left "The Church" often make the mistake of becoming "zealots" of another breed --browbeaters; insisting that our message be heard. That can turn people away as fast as new missionary's door approach. An Ex-Mormon will seemingly only bear a message of criticism to his former "brothers and sisters". I have personally found that the "grass is greener on the other side (of LDS church membership)". Our message, as former "members," should include what we have found as well as the "Why We Left".

"Should we be surprised if we are called upon to endure a little criticism, to make some small sacrifice for our faith when our forebears paid so great a price for theirs? Without contention, without argument, without offense, let us pursue a steady course."
—President Gordon B. Hinckley
(Don't "be surprised".....but the "little criticism" may just the cry that your house is on fire!)
